ELF Developing Senior African American Corporate

A Strategic Alliance

The Executive Leadership Council and the Congressional Black Caucus
are working in partnership to address issues impacting the Black community. The joint working group comprised of members of The Council, who are the most senior African American executives in corporate America, and Congressional Black Caucus members, many of whom are senior ranking members of the most influential committees in the US House of Representatives. Through the working group, the partners will collaborate to research and learn about issues affecting the Black community in order help inform public policy ranging from the achievement gap in business and education to creating opportunities in technology industries. The partners seek to influence outcomes for African Americans around the following issues:

  1. Job Creation
  2. Achievement gap in corporations and education
  3. Private equity opportunities
  4. Biotech jobs and telecom opportunities

The Council Community Outreach
The Executive Leadership Foundation selected Leadership Education And Development (LEAD), as the recipient of a $500,000 grant, provided through the Foundation’s Community Impact Initiative. LEAD is a nationally recognized leadership development organization.  It offers minority high school students multi-week residential academic, social, and developmental immersion programs at top business and engineering schools during the summer, preparing them for future global business leadership.  Member corporations such as Exxon Mobil, JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte and UBS, among others, sponsor the organization.  More . . .
