Technology Transfer Project & TTP Phase 2

The Technology Transfer Project and its current evolution, TTP Phase 2, were created to help Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) bridge the digital divide and equip their campuses to prepare graduates for a technology rich business environment.

Launched in 1995, Fortune 500 companies such as Amoco, The Coca-Cola Company, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Oracle and Williams supported TTP with consultant advice, hardware and software, infrastructure development, faculty training, and resources ranging from rewiring dorms to developing student computer labs.

TTP Phase 2 – which focuses on curricula development – is being implemented at seven hub schools with $2.1 million in support from IBM. Stage two of the implementation process will expand the network to other HBCUs.
