Executive Leadership Council President & CEO Carl Brooks was featured in a special CEO profile in the January 21st edition of The Washington Post.

Former Executive Leadership Foundation Chair Herman Bulls, CEO – Public Institutions for Jones Lang LaSalle was recently featured in the December 2007 edition of Commercial Property News, the most widely read periodical for real estate professionals.  In the edition, he was named the Minority Leader of the Year for his many achievements including his role as co-founder and inaugural president of the African-American Real Estate Professionals (AAREP).  He also announced that his Bulls Capital Partners LLC closed $127.5 million dollars in loan transactions for 2007, for a three-year total of $364 million. Susan Chapman, Global Head of Operations, Citi Realty Services, was featured in the Black Enterprise “Hot List” of most powerful players under 40, joining the ranks of business notables such as T. Troy Dixon, Managing Director, Deutsche Bank Securities and Rosalyn Durant, VP Programming & Acquisitions, ESPN.

Derica Rice, Chief Financial Officer, Eli Lily & Co., was featured in the Powerplay Section of the August issue of Black Enterprise magazine. (8/2007)

Executive Leadership Council Board member Laysha Ward, Vice President – Community Relations, Target was recently featured in a special NY Times article about her leadership of Target’s philanthropic activities. (11/2007)  

Curtis Warfield, CEO, HCA, National Patient Account Services, is featured on the cover of the November 19 issue of Modern Healthcare the nation’s only healthcare business news weekly. The story highlights NPA’s service of providing patient debt account management to health provider HCA. (11/2007)

Timothy Hardy was recently named Chairman of the Management Committee for Lemle & Keller, LLP.  He is the first African American to hold this position in the firm’s 100-year history. (1/2008)

Rodney C. Adkins is now Senior Vice President of Development and Manufacturing for Systems and Technology Group at IBM, making him responsible for all IBM systems and technology development worldwide.  He previously was Vice President of STG Worldwide Development.

Gaurdie Banister was recently named President & CEO of Aera Energy, California’s second largest energy producer.  Aera Energy is a joint venture of Shell and ExxonMobil. (12/2007)

Cedric Coco, formerly General Manager – Engineering Excellence at Microsoft, was recently named Vice President – Learning and Organizational Effectiveness at Lowe’s. (1/2008)

Keith Clinkscales has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Content Development & Enterprises, ESPN.  He will head ESPN Publishing and the consumer products division, as well as the creation of new content for all ESPN media platforms. He was previously   Senior Vice President & General Manager, ESPN Publishing.

Executive Leadership Foundation Vice Chair W. Roy Dunbar was appointed CEO of Network Solutions LLC to replace its current Chairman & CEO Champ Mitchell, who will stay on as Chairman of the Board.  Network Solutions is a leading provider of Internet services with over 7 million domain names, over 1 million e-mailboxes, and over 300,000 websites it hosts daily. Melphine Evans was recently named Chief Financial Officer- BP West Coast.  She will be accountable for the company’s West Coast refineries as well as all of its US and Latin American Retail Operations. (12/2007)

Cleve Killingsworth, Chairman & CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, was recently named to the Board of Overseers for TIAA-CREF. (1/2008)

Toyota recently named James Lowry, recently retired Senior Advisor, Boston Consulting Group to its North American Diversity Advisory Board. (11/2007)

Haves L. McNeal, President & CEO of Creative Printing Services, Inc., was noted for having one of the largest minority-owned firms in Chicago, based on 2006 revenues.  The commercial print manufacturer is listed at number 25. (12/2007)

Lloyd Trotter, Vice Chairman, President & CEO of GE Industrial recently announced that he would be leaving GE after 38 years in order to become a partner in the private equity firm GenNx360 Capital Partners, which was founded by his former GE colleagues and fellow ELC members Art Harper and Jim Shepard.  GenNx360 recently announced that they closed its first investment fund with over $500 million in commitments. Kevin M. Warren has been appointed president, CEO and chairman of Xerox Canada, effective January 1, 2008.  A 23-year veteran of the company, he previously led the transition of Xerox Corporation’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Global Imaging Systems, a U.S. office technology dealer that Xerox acquired in May. Lloyd Yates has been named President & CEO of Progress Energy Carolinas. He is responsible for leading the Raleigh North Carolina based utility that serves more than 1.4 million customers in North and South Carolina. Progress Energy is an integrated electric utility consisting of more than 30,000 square miles of service territory and more than 14,000 megawatts of nuclear, coal, hydro and gas fired generation.
