James A. Bell, a member of The Executive Leadership Council, was
named president and chief executive officer of The Boeing
Company, the world's largest aerospace company, on an interim
basis March 7, 2005. The Executive Leadership Council is the
nation's premier leadership organization of the most senior
African-American corporate executives in Fortune 500 companies.
"The Executive Leadership Council proudly welcomes James A. Bell

Mr. Bell-the company's chief financial officer and a 32-year
Boeing veteran- will oversee Boeing's strategic direction, set
operational and financial performance targets, direct capital
expenditures and approve all key personnel assignments. Boeing
is a $52 billion commercial airplane and defense company with
157,000 employees. Mr. Bell will continue to serve as CFO.
A native of Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Bell attended California State
University at Los Angeles where he earned a BA in accounting.
Her serves on the board of directors of the Joffrey Ballet, the
Chicago Urban League, World Business Chicago and New Leaders for
New Schools.
