Lowe is an Executive Vice President at Dollar General Corporation, a Fortune 500 discount retailer with the largest number of company-owned and company-operated stores in the United States. She serves on the Board of Directors of The South Financial Group, a $14.3 Billion Asset Financial Services Company headquartered in Greenville, SC and is the treasurer of The Executive Leadership Council, an organization of senior African American Executives in Fortune 500 Companies. She previously chaired the Board of Trustees of Florida A & M University; a Florida State supported HBCU with over 13,000 students.
Prior to joining Dollar General, Lowe was an Executive Vice President at Ryder System in Miami, FL; most of her career, prior to Ryder, was spent in various global financial services organizations. Throughout her 30-year corporate career, Lowe has been responsible for various lines of business including human resources, corporate communications, public affairs, administration services, information technology, quality management, commercial leasing operations and commercial and consumer lending. She has extensive experience in change management, as well as in the sale and integration of major businesses. Her career has been featured twice in the Wall Street Journal; most recently for being one of only two African American female executives to be one of the five most highly compensated executives of a Fortune 500 company. Lowe received an MBA from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
