Bernard J. Tyson is Senior Vice President of Kaiser’s Health Plan &
Hospital Operations, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan/Hospitals. He has
operational and strategic leadership over eight regional Presidents
in Northern and Southern California; Northwest, Colorado; Ohio;
Mid-Atlantic States; Hawaii; and Georgia. He is also responsible for
National Facility Services (NFS), Workplace Safety, Patient Care
Services, Archimedes Inc., and National Health Plan and Hospital
Operations.
Mr. Tyson began his Kaiser Permanente career some 21 years ago at
the San Francisco Medical Center and has steadily climbed the
corporate ladder. Prior to February 2006, Mr. Tyson was best known
for implementing the “Thrive” image advertising campaign in his
previous role as Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy and
Management. He is
Chairman of the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan in the Mid-Atlantic
States and is on the Board of Trustees for the Alliance of Community
Health Plans (ACHP).
Mr. Tyson earned his BS in Health Services Administration and his
MBA in Health Care Administration from Golden Gate University in San
Francisco, CA. He then received an advanced leadership degree from
Harvard University. He also serves on the board of the National
Committee for Quality Health Care (NCQHC). |
