VP Worldwide Global Diversity and Inclusion
Pfizer Inc

Leslie Mays serves as Pfizer’s Vice President, Worldwide Diversity and Inclusion. Appointed to this newly created leadership role in 2005, Leslie works closely with Pfizer’s CEO and business leadership teams to develop, lead, and drive global change management strategies and plans around the world. Under her leadership the company recently launched its first-ever senior leader education program reaching the company’s top 700 leaders around the world this year. She was also instrumental in establishing and currently chairs Pfizer’s D&I Worldwide Leadership Committee – one of only five enterprise-level committees sanctioned by the CEO to influence and drive strategy in this area important to business performance. In partnership with Pfizer’s Employment Law Group, the Diversity and Inclusion team, led by Leslie, recently completed the company’s first ever enterprise-wide empirical diversity study to help guide and address opportunity areas to achieve Pfizer’s aspiration of D&I leadership within the next few years.

Before joining Pfizer, Leslie spent ten years at Shell, most recently as Vice President/Head of Global Diversity and Inclusiveness for Royal Dutch Shell Group, working in London.  Leslie’s work resulted in the establishment of the first, auditable global D&I policy in a multi-national company, which was implemented in more than 140 countries; and significant increases in representation of women and people of different nationalities at senior levels.  Prior to Shell, Leslie served in corporate leadership roles at General Mills and Reebok developing and driving effective, best-practice diversity strategies.

Leslie’s affiliations include: Global Diversity Forum Advisory Board Member, Organizational Resource Counselors (ORC Worldwide); Senior Fellow, American Leadership Forum; Board Member, Executive Leadership Council Foundation; Member, Conference Board – Council on Workforce Diversity; and Corporate Advisory Board Member, National Council for Research on Women.
