TTP Java Boot Camp

The third TTP 2010 Java Bootcamp was held at Tennessee State University in May 2010.  Seventeen students

and one professor from six TTP partner institutions participated in the 2010 Bootcamp.  The instruction and preparation was done by a team of five.  Dr. Ali Sekmen (middle), Professor, Computer Science, TSU headed the team.  He was supported by four previous Java Boot Camp Industry Certified graduates (l to r Julian Strothers, Jeffrey Boyland, Gheric Speiginer, and Harold Hockett).

Participants received five (5) hours of lecture and four (4) hours of lab exercises for seven (7) days.  That is not including the expected self study

each night.  However, when you are striving to join the exclusive club of industry certified Java programmers (majority have 7 to 10 years of industry experience) this is the price.  As of June 30, 2010, nine of the participating students and the one professor (55%) have received their Java 5.0 Industry Certification.
