ELC Member Howard Woolley Published In NACD Magzine

A blog post on board governance of regulatory risk by Howard Woolley, former senior vice president of public policy for Verizon and a member of ELC’s External Advocacy Committee, was featured in the National Association of Corporate Directors publication NACD Directorship.com. Woolley’s article, “Public Policy, Regulatory Risk, and the Need to Engage,” offers valuable advice on senior executive and board member engagement in public policy and regulatory issues.

The ELC’s focus on board diversity and public policy is highlighted across the month of September 2014. We host our third quarter Corporate Board Initiative event in Detroit to help further our goal of increasing the number of global black executives on corporate boards, followed by our annual reception honoring members of the Congressional Black Caucus during their Foundation’s 44th Annual Legislative Conference (CBCF-ALC). ELC Board Chair Carla Harris and ELC President and CEO Ronald C. Parker will be panelists in Issues Forums during the CBCF-ALC hosted by Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-3) and Congressman G.K. Butterfield, Jr. (NC-1).

Woolley is one of the founders and a leading member of ELC’s External Advocacy Committee, which is actively formulating the organization’s public policy agenda. He was an ELC board member, having served for more than six years. Woolley’s article originally was published on NACD Directorship.com, Feb. 21, 2014.
