The ELC’s Institute

The ELC’s Institute for Leadership Development & Research aims to strengthen the talent pipeline of Black leaders, providing top-rate leadership programs that focus on individual growth at different career levels.

The Institute creates a well-researched and documented understanding of the corporate experiences of Black managers and executives, which can be used to develop organizations and the people they employ. As a place that gathers, analyzes, and distributes information in multiple ways, the Institute becomes the primary source for data on blacks in business.



Power of Women at Work (POWW) Virtual Conference

The Power of Women at Work (POWW) is a one-day virtual conference designed to equip Black leaders with the community connection, skills and practical strategies they’ll need to navigate their professional path to success in culturally relevant and personally authentic ways.

This year’s focus Transformational Trouble: Strategies for Influence, Innovation & Disruption for Corporate Excellence, will feature practical applications of leadership competencies through case study reviews, networking opportunities and candid conversations. Session for both events will feature ELC’s elite membership – the best Black business leaders operating at the highest levels of the Fortune 500. Sessions will offer thoughtful insights around critical competencies foundational to executive ascension in particular, financial oversight, leading change initiatives, effective communication, and cultivating influence.

Leadership Development Week (LDW) Conference

LDW serves as a premier corporate leadership summit meticulously crafted to empower the next generation of Black executive leaders with the fluency and proficiency needed to ascend the executive ranks. LDW is designed to identify and practice leadership competencies for every stage of professional experience across industry or function which is why it is comprised of six unique learning cohorts across career levels including Bright Futures, Navigating the Corporate Landscape, Strategic Pathways for Women, Leading Innovation, Strengthening the Pipeline Part 1, and Strengthening the Pipeline Part 2.

Mid-Level Managers’ Symposium (MLMS)

Held during ELC Week, this annual Symposium is a two-day, professional development experience delivered for over 1,000 in person and 5,000+ virtual high-potential, high-performing corporate managers and leaders.
