The Institute for Leadership Development & Research develops the pipeline for global black leaders through mentoring, coaching, networking and leadership training.
The Institute for Leadership Development & Research mission is to deliver leadership training by building a comprehensive curriculum of stair-step programs targeted for professionals at different levels in their careers. Participants are prepared to serve as senior executives and board members in top global enterprises. Our research provides insights into the progress and issues of diverse leadership in global enterprises.
The Institute is in the midst of a growth phase. While the former iteration of the Institute created and administered leadership development training for mid-level, black managers working for Fortune 500 companies, the revitalized Institute seeks to examine (through targeted research) and impact (through leadership development curriculum and coaching) black executives across a full lifecycle of corporate engagement – mid-level management, senior executive, c-suite executive, board member and entrepreneur.
The Institute creates a well-researched and documented understanding of the corporate experiences of black managers and executives, which can be used to develop organizations and the people they employ. As a place that gathers, analyzes, and distributes information in multiple ways, the Institute becomes the primary source for data on blacks in business.
