During last week’s exciting ELC UK Convening, a small group of ELC members were privileged to join ELC President and CEO Michael C. Hyter and ELC Board Chair Gale V. King at the Powerlist Black Excellence Awards gala. The Powerlist is a list of the 100 most influential people of African or African Caribbean heritage in the United Kingdom. ELC Member Pamela Hutchinson was selected for the 2024 Powerlist and during the awards ceremony, ELC CEO Hyter presented the 2023 Powerlist Executive Leadership Council Executive of The Year Award to Vanessa Kingori OBE, Chief Business Officer at Condé Nast Britain and Vogue European business advisor.

Earlier in the day, King Charles III hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for representatives of the Powerlist Black Excellence Awards, including ELC leadership and several ELC members. This is the 9th year The ELC has sponsored the Powerlist Awards, hosted by Powerful Media. ELC’s International Presence Committee Co-Chairs Nancy A. Armand and Keith Levy, and Arlene Isaacs-Lowe as Advisor, guide ELC’s activities in the UK and engagement with ELC UK members.
