Media outlets including Bloomberg, the Huffington Post and CNN Money sought comment from The ELC on the limited number of global black corporate CEOs, after McDonald’s announced the retirement of CEO Don Thompson, an ELC Member and 2010 ELC Achievement Award recipient.

ELC President and CEO Ronald C. Parker was quoted in a number of articles and our messaging was highlighted by hundreds of print, broadcast and online outlets that ran the stories. Parker told CNN Money, “Our numbers are going south on us.” He added, boards need to be “very, very intentional and methodical in succession planning. They need to make sure that there are individuals (in the pipeline) who are getting the proper career experiences that will allow them to have the global perspective” to lead multinational companies.
