ELC Member Rosalind Hudnell Addresses Need for Minority Engineers in New York Times Article

An article in the January 6 edition of The New York Times outlines Intel’s bold new initiative to create a workforce that reflects the available talent pool of women and underrepresented minorities, and quotes ELC Member Rosalind L. Hudnell, chief diversity officer at Intel. She cited statistics that show the limitations in recruiting women and minority graduates with engineering degrees, a problem faced by all high-tech companies.

During the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Intel CEO Brian M. Krzanich announced that over the next five years Intel will make a concerted effort to increase the population of women, blacks, Hispanics and other minority groups in its company by 14 percent. Intel announced a $300 million fund over the next three years dedicated to improving the company’s workforce diversity, including funding engineering scholarships and support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
