Program Curriculum
Leadership Pathways is built around four quarterly sessions, each addressing a critical stage in your leadership development journey. Together, they create a comprehensive pathway from understanding organizational dynamics to positioning yourself as a strategic leader.
Leadership Storytelling
Participants identify the eight components of a compelling leadership story, then craft and deliver one that connects personal values, enterprise strategy, and organizational impact.
Key Takeaway: A leadership story that is personal, strategic, and ready to use in high-stakes organizational moments.
Human-Centered Systems Design
Participants develop strategies to improve decision-making, collaboration, and adaptability across complex systems with a focus on sustainable, people-centered approaches to organizational performance.
Key Takeaway: A stronger framework for designing and refining organizational systems that balance efficiency, empathy, and performance.
Ethical Influence
Drawing on Robert Cialdini’s six principles of influence, participants examine the ethical dimensions of leadership decision-making and develop strategies for driving results across stakeholder groups while maintaining trust and credibility.
Key Takeaway: A clearer, more principled approach to using influence as a senior leader.
Strategic Communication
Participants develop communication strategies for leading through ambiguity, addressing crises with clarity while articulating a compelling long-term vision. They also build strategies for engaging resistant stakeholders without sacrificing trust.
Key Takeaway: A leadership communication framework for high-stakes, high-uncertainty moments and a refined vision statement aligned to enterprise goals.
Industry and Organizational Strategic Orientation
Participants assess their current level of awareness across both internal dynamics and external industry forces, identify specific knowledge gaps, and build strategies to close them.
Key Takeaway: A sharper, more comprehensive understanding of the forces shaping their organization and industry and a plan to act on it.
Enterprise and Industry Perspective
Using a structured readiness assessment, participants evaluate how prepared their organization is for the disruptions and opportunities most likely to emerge in their sector.
Key Takeaway: A clearer picture of enterprise readiness and the strategic priorities that demand the most attention.
P&L Leadership
Participants work through iterative budgeting decisions, apply resource allocation frameworks, and analyze how financial trade-offs affect departmental collaboration and overall strategic resilience.
Key Takeaway: Greater confidence and competence in the financial dimensions of enterprise decision-making.
Identity-Based Groups and Leadership Pipelines
Participants analyze the organizational dynamics that shape who advances into senior leadership and develop frameworks for building pipelines that are both high-performing and sustainable.
Key Takeaway: A clearer understanding of the systemic factors affecting pipeline strength and a more intentional approach to developing and advancing leadership talent.
Enterprise Legacy Portfolio
The capstone session connects personal leadership philosophy, enterprise decision-making, financial judgment, and long-term organizational impact. Participants present and reflect on their Enterprise Legacy Portfolio.
Key Takeaway: The clarity and conviction to articulate your leadership legacy and the enterprise impact you intend to create.

How is this different from Strengthening the Pipeline 1?
Strengthening the Pipeline 2 focuses on enterprise-level strategy, financial leadership, change communication, and organizational decision-making at scale. What will participants build?
An Enterprise Legacy Portfolio, integrating P&L analysis, strategic trade-off assessment, personal leadership philosophy, and a forward-looking legacy statement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called "Leadership Pathways"?
Leadership isn’t linear—it’s a journey with multiple paths forward. The ELC’s Leadership Pathways recognizes that each leader’s journey is unique. Through our curriculum, peer coaching, and personalized Leadership Charter, you’ll chart your own path to success while learning from others navigating similar challenges.
Is this program right for me if I'm not officially a "manager" yet?
Yes. Leadership Pathways is designed for professionals who are new to leadership—whether you’re managing your first team or expanding your influence without a formal title. If you’re leading projects, influencing decisions, or preparing for a leadership role, this program is for you.
Will I receive any certification or credential?
While there is no formal certification, participants who complete the program receive a digital badge and a personalized Leadership Charter that documents your growth and development.
Can my organization sponsor my participation?
Absolutely. Many participants of The ELC programs are sponsored by their employers as part of professional development initiatives. Contact us to discuss group enrollment options.
What if I can't attend every session?
Sessions are live-only and not recorded to create a confidential, engaged learning environment. We recommend committing to all sessions to get the full value of the program.
How is this different from other leadership programs?
Leadership Pathways combines three elements most programs can’t offer: direct access to The ELC Members and senior executives, small-group peer coaching with ICF-certified coaches (capped at 20 participants), and a 9-month journey focused on the skills that matter most—reading organizational dynamics, building executive presence, and positioning yourself for advancement. You’ll leave with practical frameworks, a personalized Leadership Charter, and a network of peers who become lasting professional relationships.
